DESIGN

BEGINNERS
Mastercam DESIGN COURSE

During this course the student will become proficient in 2D design by completing a series of drawings that will cover the following features: 2-D geometry creation, modification and transformation You will learn how to analyze and dimension a part, and how to create or move entities onto different levels. You will also learn how to import and export files from other CAD systems.
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Windows.
Duration: 12 hours

ADVANCED
Mastercam DESIGN COURSE

This course provides the student with 3D Design knowledge. Topics covered include: 3-D wireframe geometry and spline creation. You will learn how to create parametric and NURBS surfaces using loft, ruled, revolved, swept, draft and coons patches. You will also learn how to modify the surfaces using offset, trim, filet, and blend surfaces. You'll learn how to check the integrity of surface models.
Prerequisites: Beginners Mastercam Design course completion or equivalent knowledge.
Duration: 15 hours

Mastercam SOLIDS COURSE

This course introduces the student to powerful solid modeling. You will learn modeling techniques like revolved, extrude, loft and sweep commands. You'll learn how to modify the solid using filleting, chamfering and shelling features and how to reorder and edit operations by using the history tree. Use of Boolean features such as addition and subtraction are explained.
Prerequisites: Advanced Mastercam Design
Duration: 9 hours

MILL

BEGINNERS
Mastercam Mill COURSE

In this course the student will learn the fundamentals of working with Mastercam Mill. You will complete a series of 2D drawing exercises covering the following functions: entity creation, geometry modification and transformation, create or move entities onto different levels, import and export files from other CAD systems. Machine a 2D part using contour, pocket, and drilling toolpaths. You will be shown how to use pocket remachining, island facing, tapered wall pocketing, tombstone programming, and how to verify toolpaths using a solid-based toolpath verification.
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of
Windows 98 and CNC machining experience.
Duration: 30 hours.

ADVANCED
Mastercam MILL COURSE

This course is designed for experienced Mastercam user and provides the student with knowledge regarding 3D Design and 3D Toolpaths creations for 3 or more axis milling. Topics covered include: 3D wireframe geometry creation: geometrical, free form, and derived surface creation. If you are a Mill Level 2 user you will learn how to machine a 3D part using single surface roughing and finishing flowline toolpath; toolpath projection onto a complex surface; ruled, swept and revolved toolpaths. If you are Level 3 user you will focus on more advanced multisurface roughing and finishing toolpaths: pocket, contour, parallel, radial, plunge, project, flowline, shallow, parallel steep, scallop, pencil and leftover.
Prerequisites: Beginner Mastercam Mill course completion or equivalent knowledge.
Duration: 30 hours

LATHE

BEGINNERS
Mastercam LATHE COURSE

In this course you will learn fundamentals of working with Mastercam Lathe. You'll complete a series of 2D drawing exercises covering the following functions: entity creation, geometry modification and transformation, create or move entities onto different levels, import and export files from other CAD systems. You will become proficient in turning programming operations such as: facing, roughing, finishing, threading, grooving, drilling, and boring. You will learn how to verify toolpath using solid based toolpath verification.
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of
Windows 98 and CNC machining experience.
Duration: 18 hours

ADVANCED
Mastercam LATHE COURSE

This course provides the student with knowledge regarding 3D Design and C-axis toolpath creation for mill-turn machines. Topics include: 3D-wireframe geometry creation and surface creation. You'll learn how to create C-axis (mill/turn) toolpaths like: face and cross contouring, C-axis contouring, face and cross drilling.
Prerequisites: Beginner Mastercam Lathe course completion or equivalent knowledge.
Duration: 18 hours

V8 UPDATE
Mastercam MILL COURSE

This course is designed for users of version 7, and provides the student with knowledge regarding the new features in Mastercam Mill version 8.

In this course you will learn new geometry creation and editing, new chaining options, new options in surface filleting. You will also learn about associative 2D toolpaths, toolpath set-up and management, new material and tool definitions, new pocketing, new multisurface and high speed machining in Mastercam Mill version 8.
Prerequisites: User of Mastercam version 7. Note: Users of Mastercam version 6 or lower are recommended to take the Beginner or Advanced Mill course.
